I'm not sure if this topic belongs in any of these forums... but I figured at least I can get some more expert advice... or at worst be told no one can help
I'm a computer student who wants to specialise in security and work with cyber crime and the like. Both fortunately and unfortunately, I have been given a task by a friend that requires me to scan through security footage and match a face on a photograph to a possible face in the footage. The amount of footage is huge (thousands of hours) and I figured I'd use a facial recognition software for the job.
Could anyone suggest a good program for this task? Most facial recognition programs I've found are used for securing computer log-ons... they don't quite do what I need them to.
This is NOT a school project.
My friend's sister is missing, and since it's not a very high-profile case and such, we have been given permission to view and use some of the evidence collected and analysed by the police. My friend believes that the police may have missed some "clues" in the footage. Maybe we'll be lucky and she's right...

The facial recognition software that you need would be the same that any of the Federal government alphabet soup would have. I am sure that whatever they are using was developed in house or by contract and isnt available to the public at large. Even if you were to find software available to the public that can do what you want to do, the price would be way out of the average persons reach.
