Hello everyone,

I am currently doing my final year project on steganography. For this project I will be putting together a steganography detection/analysis toolkit, but I need some kind of benchmark to test the software against, other than just to see whether it works.

I would like to know what the investigators like you guys would want.
For example:
Would you like the software to be focus on a certain type of file? Which type?
Do you prefer the GUI based software? (because time is limited?)
What operating system do you prefer the software to be on?
What is the main operating system installed in the labs?
Do you use virtual machines when you need to use other OS?
If so, which software do you use for using the virtual machine?

These are just some of the question I could think of, any ideas would be really helpful and appreciated.

Hello Kaiser, I am also in Stenography field and I am actively involved in teaching Shorthand to youngsters. Can I know in details about the software that you have developed? Which method is being followed?

I am using software such as stegdetect and xsteg. What I am looking for is a list of things people want in tools for detecting and analysing steganography, so that I can see if the software are up to standards.

This list will then be a minimum requirements which all the software I use should meet. If not, the software is not qualified.

I would look to some of the leaders in the industry like SARC "http://www.sarc-wv.com/" or StegoHunt "http://www.wetstonetech.com/product/stegohunt/" to see what they claim and then look to meet or exceed their standards.
