What do you wear to your job/career? Like, shirts you would wear to a funeral (the shirt under a sports jacket), or just a T-Shirt? The reason i bring this up is because my right arm has a full tattoo sleeve. I was just wondering would it be ok to wear the formal, long sleeve, shirts to work. or do people really care about the tattoo? i understand being in court you would have to wear a suit and whatnots so the tattoo would then be hidden, but i would like to know about when your not in court.

basically, what do you guys wear to work? and what do you suggest?

*EDIT*
this tattoo of mine isnt pornographic or offensive... unless your offended by Koi fish and Dragons... not sure if that makes a difference or not, but its nice to know i guess?

I would say it really depends on the environment. When the weather is colder I typically wear a pinpoint oxford long sleeve dress-shirt in the office, and when it is warmer a golf shirt. Of course if I am working at a client's location I tend to wear at a minimum a dress-shirt and tie all year round.

Unless your employer provides and requires something like a golf shirt I cannot imagine how being better dressed would be an issue.

If you have a sleeve..... wear a long sleeve shirt anytime you may be dealing with the public.......and don't make it a white one that you can see through enough that people can get a hint of your sleeve.... make sure it totally conceals your ink.

People are going to be looking at you and thinking I'm paying a good sum for you to do forensics and allowing you access to allot personal or proprietary information... If you agree with it or not, people will judge you by your appearance..... If they think you have an arm full of prison tats, you become a ex-con.

I always wear a long sleeve dress shirt and slacks while at a customer site. In my own office I tend to wear a golf shirt and slacks. I have not worn a tie to a client site in a while. However, I live in California and people seem to be less formal out here.
