I operate a small construction company and have to use a computer. I also have 2 other family computers hooked to mine with a wireless network. I had someone trash my system files once getting in through McAffey remote administrator file. It seems like I have to defend myself from so many attempts from outside, and internal computer problems that I am looking for a resource for help. I do not have a specific problem now but I am sure I will soon. For now I am just looking at the information.
Thank you for any assistance I find or may get in the future.
Agree with PreferredUser.... but since you posted here....
1. Change the password on your McAfee Remote Desktop - and make sure its not your dog's name either. I've never used MRD, but if it is like other RDs, make sure that it is set to ASK YOUR PERMISSION before it can connect to your desktop. If you don't use MRD - disable it.
2. Is your wireless secure? encrypted? If it is not, you should get it encrypted. Either look online and figure out how to do it or get someone (*NOT* the neighbor kid - becoz he is too close to your network) to encrypt it.
