Hmm, interesting. Does the military require all of the paper trails and chain of custody or is it more fly by the seat of your pants? I guess my question really is, is being trained in computer forensics qualify me for media exploitation positions? I see postings for positions in baghdad and kabul with CACI, Booz Allen, and others and am keenly interested.
Glad to hear there are standard operating procedures, otherwise all that chain of custody training wouldn't help! Yes, I know Encase fairly well from classes, but do not have the EnCe certification unfortunately. Will be getting CCE in the spring and am studying arabic via rosetta stone currently. I think that one of these deployments doing media exploitation would be a dream come true for me if it happened. I tried to join the military but have a bad knee and nerve that kept me out. If I could find one piece of data hidden that might save a few soldiers or citizens lives, it would definately be worth being gone for a year.
