Sorry if this is a dumb question, I am new to this forum and new to computer forensics. I hope this a relevant question and I apologize if this question is unrelevant to your forum.
I was curious if there were techniques a computer forensics scientist could use to find sensitive data on a computer if the HDD or SSD was physically missing from the computer.
For example, a technique that uses the gpu's vram, ram, or mobo to find data. All without the use of HDD or SSD.
If there are no techniques that doesn't require HDD or SSD, then does that mean having a HDD or SSD the only hope for computer forensics scientist to find data?

There are methods to extract data from the RAM, but if they removed the storage medium, then they probably turned the box off so even that would be gone.
